Learn how to create a personal wish website with Wishly: choose a template, edit supported text and media, adjust its design, preview the page and share one published link.

1. Choose a template for the moment
Start by deciding what you want the page to do. A birthday website may need a warm greeting and a photo story. A proposal page may build toward a question. A wedding invitation may focus on names, dates and event information. Choosing the occasion first makes it easier to find a design that already fits the feeling you want to create.
Open the , explore the available categories and open a preview before you choose. Wishly's templates are individual designs, so their layout and supported sections are not identical.
2. Personalize the words and media
Open the selected design in the visual editor. Replace sample names, messages and dates with the details that belong to your story. Keep the most important message clear and specific. A short line that sounds like you is usually more meaningful than a long generic paragraph.
Where the chosen template supports them, add your own photos, gallery images, music, audio or video. Use images that are clear and relevant. Check the crop and order of the images, and make sure every caption is appropriate for the person who will receive the page.
Some templates also include special experiences such as reveals, chapters, countdowns, RSVP sections, games or reply forms. These interactions depend on the design you choose; do not assume every template includes every feature.
3. Adjust the theme and font
Open the Builder's design settings to personalize the look of the template. On desktop, use Settings in the Builder toolbar. On a phone, use Settings in the bottom toolbar; some layouts also place Design settings under More (⋯).
Choose a color preset or use the color picker for a custom HEX color. You can also select from the available font choices. Preview the result as you work. Design preferences are saved for the template you are editing, so changing one page's style does not automatically redesign another template.
4. Preview the experience like a visitor
Editing mode and Preview mode serve different purposes. Use the editor to make changes; then switch to Preview to experience the page without editing controls. Read every line, tap the interactive elements, check the image sequence and test the page at a phone-sized width.
Look for practical details: is the main message easy to read? Does the page still make sense without sound? Does the link open on a mobile browser? Are any sample names or placeholder images still present? Make corrections before publishing.
5. Publish and share one link
When the page feels ready, continue to the publishing step. Choose an available page address, review the sharing details and publish. Wishly creates a public link for the finished website. You can share that link in a chat, on social media or through a QR code where available.
After publishing, open the public URL yourself. This final check confirms what the recipient will see, rather than what the editor preview showed. If you make further edits, publish or update the website so the public version reflects the latest changes.
Before you send the link
- Check spelling, names, dates and pronouns.
- Make sure you have permission to share other people's photos or personal details.
- Test the experience on a phone and check that the page loads as expected.
- Confirm the public link is the one you intend to share.
- Consider whether the content is appropriate for anyone who may receive or forward the link.
